2019 Hawkesbury - Polytrack Provincial Championships Qualifier

A quinella gave Kim Waugh a dream start in the Hawkesbury Qualifier as a race fit Safado ran down his stablemate Spring Charlie to book their spots in the final. Spring Charlie, first-up from a break, was forced to do a lot of the chasing in a fast run race and jockey Blake Shinn was left in front a fair way from home while Safado, appreciating the solid tempo, peeled out with 300m to run and under the urgings of Jason Collett picked him up near the line. They broke right away from third placed It’s So Obvious who did a good job after sitting third, and also chasing the speed, and she earned herself a place in the final.

2019 The Polytrack Provincial Championship Final – Royal Randwick

It wasn’t an easy path to the Polytrack Provincial Championships Final for Bobbing but it was much smoother sailing once he made it to the open spaces of Randwick. The five-year-old was aided by a perfectly judged ride from jockey Koby Jennings as he swept down the centre of the track from near the tail. It was Jennings’ biggest win of his career to date and also a triumph for trainer Bernie Kelly. Bobbing relegated Kim Waugh to the runners-up stall for the second successive year as Spring Charlie filled second place while Kris Lees’ galloper Chalmers arrived in time for third.
