Scone Race Club

Newhaven Park Country Championships Wild Card
Sunday 20 March

The town of Scone is located about 280km north of Sydney in the heart of the Hunter Valley horse country, famous for its thoroughbred studs which are the breeding grounds for countless champions of the turf, and is the focal point for training in the area.
The Scone Cup was first run in 1947 and the current racecourse was constructed in 1994 and is two minutes from Scone Airport on Bunnan Road, about 5km to the north west of the town centre.
Its racecourse is considered one of the fairest in New South Wales, it has a circumference of 1902m and a 400m home straight which offers every horse its chance.
A multiple award-winning Club, Scone made history in 2011 by conducting the first metropolitan stand-alone meeting at a country club.
Its Function Centre offers sweeping views of the racecourse and ranges beyond and can cater for an intimate private gathering, wedding, meeting or corporate event with the flexibility of inside and out.
