  • Award winning Muswellbrook Race Club is one of the oldest continuous race clubs in NSW, having been established in 1862, and has an excellent reputation with the support of many leading country, provincial and city trainers. Its spacious 2010m track with 400m straight provides fair and exciting racing, allowing all horses to perform at their best.

The Club is located approximately 250km north of Sydney on the New England Highway in the Upper Hunter amongst the largest group of world class Thoroughbred Horse Studs in Australia including Coolmore, Darley, Arrowfield and Vinery. Wineries and Mining are also significant in the resource rich shire of Muswellbrook.

The racecourse, located 2.5km west of the town centre just off Denman Road is named Skellatar Park after the original Estate on which the racecourse was established by the Bowman family in the late 1800’s. Since the inception of the Country Championships in 2015 it has hosted the Wild Card race, the last chance to qualify for the final.

Beautifully manicured gardens and lovely shaded lawn areas are a feature of Muswellbrook’s facilities. The RN Webber Racing Centre, which houses the Silks Restaurant, is very popular for weddings, birthdays and corporate functions as well as being used for members and sponsors on race days.
