About
A no-nonsense North Queenslander, John O’Shea moved to Sydney in 1995 and worked for greats including Tommy Smith, Bart Cummings, Gai Waterhouse and Gary Moore before branching out on his own in 1999.
O’Shea, who has a degree in journalism from the University of Southern Queensland, has been a regular among Sydney’s best trainers for years.
In 2014 O'Shea was appointed Head Trainer for Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum's Godolphin Stables, the racing operation behind the breeding conglomerate Darley. The signing has been successful with Group one winners including Contributor, Exosphere and Hartnell.
