Tim Clark was born in Leeton in the Riverina area of NSW and is a keen golfer.  He rode his first winner, Tactica, at Gundagai in 2003.

Clark shot to prominence as the champion apprentice in Sydney during the 2005-06 season. He formed a strong partnership with former top racemare Hot Danish winning 14 races including 12 Stakes events.  

In 2013 Clark rode in Hong Kong, with his victories including the Group1-Hong Kong Classic Cup on It Has to Be You.
