Jay Ford began his apprenticeship with Keith Dryden and finished his tutoring with Kim Waugh. His name went up in lights when he began a history-making partnership with fantastic sprinter Takeover Target. Ford, trainer Joe Janiak and Takeover Target travelled the world and won Group races in the UK and Japan. Ford had 39 rides on Takeover Target winning 20 races including seven Group One races along the way.
