The Championships Race Highlights
About
As a boy, Brenton Avdulla dreamed of one day being involved with galloping horses at trackwork. Watching videos of horses such as Kingston Town and Manikato helped push him towards turning that desire into the reality of actual race riding.
After finishing second in the Victoria Apprentices’ Premiership in 2008-09 with 86 winners, Avdulla moved to Sydney shortly after to join Hall of Fame trainer Gai Waterhouse’s stable. It was for trainer Grahame Begg though that he broke his Group One maiden aboard when Secret Admirer flew down the outside to win the 2010 Flight Stakes at Royal Randwick.
Brenton took out his fourth Group One win in 2014 when riding to victory aboard Snitzerland in the Lightning Stakes. He has a good association with Rosehill trainer Gerald Ryan.
