About
They don’t come much more genuine than Le Romain. The son of Hard Spun very rarely finishes out of the money and he was rewarded for a string of placings over the spring with a win in the Group One Cantala Stakes at Flemington beating fellow Sydneysider McCreery.
As a three-year-old he took the scalp of Press Statement in the Randwick Guineas.
The now four-year-old continued where he left of this autumn winning the Southern Cross Stakes first-up before nosing out champion grey Chautuaqua in a thrilling edition of the Group One Canterbury Stakes. He was subsequently no match for Winx in the George Ryder but his second there should top him off perfectly for his main goal, the Doncaster Mile.
